The New 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Redesign
The Nissan Pathfinder has been confidently handling tough terrain both on and off-road for more than three decades. Now with the introduction of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, Colorado drivers will find even more to love about this rugged yet comfortable midsized SUV. The redesigned Nissan Pathfinder for 2017 has more power, better handling and more advanced safety features than any model before it. With seating for seven passengers in comfort and style, along with an available advanced entertainment system and premium audio, this new 2017 Pathfinder may just be the perfect weekend getaway vehicle.
Redesigned or Adventure
The new 2017 Nissan Pathfinder has been given a more powerful engine for more towing capacity, and a new suspension for better handling both on and off-road. Nissan’s proven 3.5-liter V6 is back in the new Pathfinder, but this year it has even more power and torque. In this latest version more than half of the engine components are new, resulting in an increased rating of 284-horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the suspension has been tuned for a more responsive driving feel, and for better all-terrain driving. The result is a towing capacity in the new Pathfinder of 6,000 pounds—enough to pull whatever toys you might have.
Even with this improvement in power and towing capacity, the new 2017 Pathfinder still gets great fuel economy at 27 MPG on the highway and around 20 MPG in the city. In addition to the new towing and suspension upgrades in the new 2017 Pathfinder, Colorado drivers will really appreciate the available All-Mode 4X4-i four-wheel drive system. This capable system lets you choose between 2-wheel drive, Auto-select Mode and fully locked 4-wheel drive mode to meet all kinds of conditions.
New Features and Conveniences
Among the new features added to this year’s redesigned Pathfinder include a new color touchscreen display that’s an inch larger than last year’s. There’s also an improved color gauge display screen with enhanced graphics. For passenger comfort, there’s an available rear seat entertainment system that includes 8-inch headrest mounted display screens, along with individually-controlled A/C and heat for rear passengers.
Safety features in the new Pathfinder have also been improved, including automatic emergency braking in case of a detected obstruction, along with adaptive cruise control and moving object detection. This adds to the 360-degree Around View® Monitor safety feature from last year’s Pathfinder. This is part of the continued advances in Nissan’s Safety Shield system that is designed to keep vehicle occupants as safe as possible.
The newly redesigned 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is without a doubt the most advanced and most capable Pathfinder to date. This powerful and competent SUV is as much at home tackling our Colorado winter weather as it is driving the family around town.
